  • White Pepper 7/30/07
    Description: a gallery of photographs
Comments: David calls the site White Pepper – "A good strong solid addition to anything without the pretentious self-satisfied smugness of black pepper with its fancy prancy prettiness and unnecessarily oversized grinder." He also says "it's good for you." And after browsing his small collection of photographs, I've got to add that white pepper is quite tasty too...;~))

  • Backtracking slowly forward 7/21/07
Description: Tittin Rinde's log of drawings, paintings, images and whatever comes to mind
Comments: "The human face intrigues me and so does the portrait - it's a life long passion." From simple drawings to more elaborate paintings, Tittin's sense of intrigue with stories behind human faces shines through the works. And the "need to clarify certain aspects of [her] perception" shows when she talks about her selfportraits. Besides being a place to log her creative works, Tittin's blog represents a bit of a change in attitude – "from the neutral 'presenting' to the far more personal 'sharing'." And what she shares about art in general via words and links is every bit as interesting as her own art – "in order to go forward, I also have to go backward..."

  • Seven Roads 7/14/07
Description: 'Gallery of Book Trade Labels' and other projects
Comments: "We must admit to having gone from 'coming across' the labels in our book-browsing to actually searching for them." Greg Kindall's "diverse set of interests" obviously includes old books and he's managed to accumulate quite a "virtual collection" of digitally scanned book trade labels, some of which go back to the mid-1800s. These "small and sometimes beautiful" labels found in the endpapers of old books are marvelous little artifacts for type lovers and book lovers alike. There's other interesting projects at Seven Roads, but the old labels are something else!

  • due3 7/7/07
Description: graphic, motion graphic, and sound design from Instanbul (Flash)
Comments: I don't feel good, a little piece of noise music designed by Nom, actually made me feel real good. A breeze was coming out of my woofer as I listened to it. Several new 3D graphic designs showed up recently in Nom's due3Lab and he notes there's a really psycho video in the works. From Instanbul, a design showcase worth watching – and you might want to check out Nom's blog to see what he's watching...

  • Jonn Leffmann Photography 7/4/07
Description: documentary and street photography plus abstract works
Comments: "You have a unique view of the world," says a recent visitor to the site. Another says "the abstracts are beautiful." Jonn Leffmann's main focus is on documentary and street photography and you're in for a treat if you're into such things. And his passion for abstract forms shines through as well...
